While day trips reach the closer islands, the Similans are best explored via multi-day liveaboard vessels. These floating dive hotels range from budget to luxury, allowing guests to wake up directly over world-class dive sites. The typical schedule includes four daily dives—three daytime plus one night dive—maximizing underwater time while minimizing travel. Between dives, visitors can explore the islands' pristine beaches with their characteristic "sailing stone" formations or snorkel in protected bays.
